"We have not determined at this time whether there will be any release of any kind of content."Gautier said the giant container ship was stuck in place, with its bow pinned down by the weight of a piece of debris from the bridge."The really critical thing is, as you know, a portion of the bridge remains on the bow of that ship, and we will be coordinating closely with the Army Corps of Engineers and their contractors to remove that debris first and then be able to remove the container," He said. "Due to the weight of the debris on the bridge, the bow was on the bottom."Authorities also hope to clear the wreckage to create a path to the Port of Baltimore for shipping purposes. The remains of the 1.6-mile-long bridge are blocking one of the busiest ports in the United States and threaten to disrupt $80 billion worth of cargo transportation and more than 140,000 jobs.
