Relevant shipping information websites show that the "Mado" is a liquefied natural gas ship flying the flag of the Marshall Islands and operated by a Greek company. Before February this year, the ship had been operated by the American oil company ExxonMobil.

The British Maritime Trade Action Office previously reported that the "Maddo" encountered missile attacks twice in the Red Sea on the 15th and in the Gulf of Aden on the 17th, neither of which caused any casualties or damage to the hull.

According to the Israel Defense ForcesOn the 17th, it said that a "suspicious aircraft" entered Israeli airspace from the Red Sea that night and fell into an open space in northern Eilat, causing no casualties or property damage. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed on the evening of the 19th that a "suspicious air target" that hit an open space near Eilat, Israel, was a cruise missile.

According to reports, this is the first time a Houthi missile has hit Israeli territory. In previous attacks, missiles and drones launched from Yemen have hit neighboring countries or been intercepted by air defense systems.
