On March 13, ZIM announced its 2023 performance report.
The report shows that in 2023, ZIM will achieve total revenue of approximately US$5.2 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 59%. The net loss in 2023 will be approximately US$2.7 billion , and the net profit in 2022 will be US$4.6 billion. Fourth-quarter revenue was $1.21 billion, down 45% year-on-year, and net loss was $147 million.
In addition, ZIM's cargo volume will be 3.3 million TEU in 2023 and 3.38 million TEU in 2022, which is basically the same. The average freight rate will be US$1,203/TEU in 2023 and US$3,240/TEU in 2022, a year-on-year decrease of 63%.
